Fiction Editing
Clients say:
“After a string of disappointments with other freelance editors, it was a delight to work with someone professional, timely, and able to bring a published novelist’s understanding of fiction to my project. I’ll be hiring L.J. to edit my novels as long as she’ll have me.”
—CJ West, author of the Randy Black thrillers
“Ms. Sellers’ editorial work was fast, accurate and extremely helpful at a very reasonable price. She took an active interest in the manuscript and was sensitive to its needs as well as my own. Her feedback went well beyond a mere technical correction of grammar— down to felicities of phrases and very helpful suggestions concerning plot development. She met my needs with exemplary skill and sensitivity.”
—Mark H. Phillips, author of Resqueth Revolution
“I wrote a Science Fiction story with a host of necessary characters, a completely new civilization and put them in the middle of war, with traitors lurking in every corner. Because I couldn’t see how to throw in the kitchen sink, I put in a psychic cat just to stir the pot.
After I accumulated enough rejection slips to paper my study, I decided I needed to give it to a professional to edit. L.J. Sellers took this hodge-podge of forgotten English grammar, punctuation and spelling, along with various and sundry plot bunnies that drifted off into the cosmos and, in just under two weeks, edited the manuscript with expertise and grace. The grace came into play when she had to tell me that some of my more ubiquitous bunnies had to be spaced. It was a delicate mission.
To my complete and utter joy, days after resubmission to a publisher who had said the manuscript needed extensive work, I received a contract for the book. L.J. Sellers saved the day. I would not hesitate to send her more of my work and do not regret one penny of her fee.
