Ping and Twitter

SEO is a matter of signal-to-noise ratio, and we’ve reached a point where there so many signals they’ve all become noise. The problem with things like twittering and pinging and whatever else the latest next best thing or (dare I say it) killer app is that they actually exacerbate the problem. What’s vying for our attention today? Diggs and Pings and Twits and Blabs and AdWords and, and, and, and…

And it all takes time. Too much time. So much time that I fear we’ve reached the point where the only way to have enough time do all the things we need to do to maybe get noticed is to give up doing the thing we’re hoping to be noticed for.

Next to twitter, my phone has a function with will boardcast your location and current events if enabled, 24 hours a day. It doesn’t take a semi-paranoid, gun fanatic to view that as intrusive.

It appears I may be outdated in the area of networking. 1997 is far gone, and few sites make sense to me. Computers have outgrown me, and I’ve obtain a status near that of an 80 year old attempting to learn to email.

I only blinking for a moment, and it all changed.

    Ipod?

I just tried your Twitter link, but it is no longer twittering. I got a message saying it had been disabled because it could be like head lice? Now THAT, was not very nice, hehe.

You hadn’t known of Technorati before? Wow. That was one of THE first places I was told to register. Of course, back then, Technorati didn’t change their ranking rules weekly and not tell anyone what they were…

I am launching a new blog that will hopefully help you give books away. Keep an eye on the SinC listserve or my Facebook profile ’cause I suspect you’ll want to take part.
